ABOUT THE TRAINING

A certified trainer will conduct NCPC training on-site at your agency. Assessment and certification of individuals can take approximately 6 to 18 months depending on your agency's needs. The trainer will provide these services:

  1. Consultation and training to begin the program and become self-sufficient in internally managing the program.
  2. Training for direct care staff on best practices.
  3. Training for supervisors on coaching, mentorship, servant leadership, relationships, ethics and other topics.
  4. Assistance with program implementation and evaluation of competency for supervisory and direct care staff.

Examples of training topics for direct care staff include:

  • Supporting individuals experiencing transitions in care.
  • Promoting effective communication and relationships in the care environment.
  • Preventing and supporting individuals in distress.
  • Fostering the equality, diversity and rights of individuals.
  • Contributing to the protection of individuals from maltreatment.
  • Functional analysis of behavior.
  • Returning the environment to a therapeutic milieu.

Additional training topics are selected based on your staff and agency needs.
